About the Book and Author
For nearly a decade, Amy Kaplan worked on Our American Israel: The Story of an Entangled Alliance. This pathbreaking cultural history of the relationship between the two countries was published by Belknap Press of Harvard University, a special imprint dedicated to publishing books by scholars intended for wider audiences.
At the time of the publication, Professor Kaplan had intended to widely promote the book. Tragically, she was diagnosed with brain cancer shortly after the book's publication.
While the book earned significant attention without Amy's tour, her friends and colleagues recognized in 2024 that, more than 5 years after its publication, the book's lessons were more urgently needed than ever. Banding together, they worked with the publisher to release a paperback edition, organized events across the country, and now have created this website to inform and guide anyone who finds it.
